Our Story: The Soul of Kannauj, Captured in a Beautiful Bottle
Welcome to our world of fragrances. This is not just a perfume store; it is a centuries-old heritage that we have kept alive with the exact same purity and passion. My name is Arth Katiyar, and I am embarking on this beautiful journey alongside my friend and co-founder, Rishi Dube. Every fragrant breeze that rises from the historic soil of Kannauj flows through our veins. Our mission is not just to make you smell good, but to introduce you to the royal essence that was once the exclusive privilege of kings and emperors.
Kannauj
: Where Fragrance Flows in the Wind
For the world, Paris might be the capital of perfume, but the true birthplace of authentic fragrances is the heart of India—Kannauj. This is the city that has worshipped the art of perfumery like a devotion for centuries. There is a magic in its soil, in the breezes of the Ganges, and in the hands of every artisan that no modern machine can ever replicate. We bring that 400-year-old legacy of Kannauj down into a vial, straight to you.
How We Craft Our Attar: The Traditional 'Deg-Bhapka' Method
We do not make our perfumes by mixing chemicals in factories. Our attars are still crafted today using the traditional 'Deg-Bhapka' method, a sacred process passed down through generations:
The Copper Deg: Fresh flowers, plucked before dawn, are placed with water in a massive copper vessel known as the Deg.
Slow Wood Fire: It is then simmered over a slow, natural wood fire. No gas or electric heaters are ever used in our process.
The Bamboo Chonga & Bhapka: As the floral essence turns into steam, it travels through a bamboo pipe (Chonga) into a receiver vessel (Bhapka) kept cool in a water bath.
The Sandalwood Base: This precious steam is absorbed into a base of pure Sandalwood oil. This sandalwood base gives our attar the depth and stability that allows it to linger on your skin for hours.
It is a long, exhausting, yet deeply sacred process. That is exactly why true nature resides in every single drop of our collection.
Nature’s Treasure: What Goes Into Our Attars?
We use only the purest, most natural elements in the world:
Rooh Gulab: Made from the petals of Kannauj’s special Chaiti Rose, the ultimate symbol of love and royalty.
Mitti Attar (Petrichor): The intoxicating scent that rises when the first drop of rain hits parched earth, captured beautifully from baked clay.
Rooh Khus (Vetiver): Extracted from deep roots, offering the most cooling and refreshing fragrance to beat the summer heat.
Musk & Bela: A magical blend of night-blooming jasmine and musk that touches the soul instantly.
The Journey of Scent: Our Fragrance 'Notes'
When you wear our attar, it evolves with time. One fragrance, three distinct experiences:
Top Notes (The First Encounter): The very first scent you experience upon application—like the sweetness of fresh blooms or the first drop of rain. It refreshes your aura instantly.
Heart Notes (The True Soul): After 15-20 minutes, the attar reveals its true depth. You will feel the warmth of spices, the depth of roses, or the cooling touch of Khus. This is the scent that draws people toward you.
Base Notes (The Lingering Memory): Hours later, when the attar has completely melted into your skin, a faint, incredibly royal scent of pure sandalwood and musk remains, which can stay on your clothes for days
Why Choose Our Attar?
The commercial perfumes you find in the market are filled with alcohol and synthetic chemicals that evaporate within minutes. Our attar is 100% alcohol-free, natural, and undiluted.
We package our attars in exquisite vintage and heritage bottles that are masterpieces of art in themselves. The rustic and royal aesthetic of our bottles will instantly transport you to the golden era of the Nawabs.
This is not just a fragrance; it is your signature. When you wear this to a gathering or a meeting, people will be forced to turn around and ask, "What is that incredible scent?"
Experience our traditional heritage on your skin just once, and we promise, you will forget those chemical-laden perfumes forever.
